After a brief hospital stay, my beloved husband, Jim, suddenly passed this week. Please, if you are Christian, pray for him in heaven and for me to overcome the overwhelming impact of his death.

I thank God so very, very much that I have CUP to turn to when I need to redirect my thoughts.

Finally after 2-3 weeks of cold weather, the buds are coming out. We are also happy to be working on our new, old home again. This time a beautiful water fountain and next new siding!

Cant wait, that will make all our other work, landscaping and gorgeous palm trees POP! :) Since my hubby is in the hospital, it was nice to have some help from young men in the area.

We have lived in Florida for about 11 years, down from the mid Atlantic area of the US. We have saved and dreamed of having native palm trees in our yard for a very long time. We now are the proud owners of several newly planted trees of varying species.

Its dry and of course warm here, so we must be vigilant with watering. Its amazing that palm trees do NOT have large root systems that must be dug up when transplanting. Most trees have a root system as large or larger than the top and height of the tree, not so with palms.

Here is a photo of my husband Jim, and1 of his new Christmas gifts, Shawnee. Shawnee is a Hyacinth Blue Macaw Parrot, which I gave him as a gift. He loves parrots and was speechless when he saw this gift!

I had his son walk in with the bird on his shoulder and Jim almost fell off his chair. It was a happy time for everyone!

We didnt have the opportunity to visit up north this Christmas, so my relatives sent us some beautiful photos of our grandchildren.

We have 7 grandchildren, but didnt want to bore you to pieces :) According to the videos, after, Midnight Mass, Santa left 1/2 his sleigh there and everyone was delighted with everything.
