Del Neubauer has designed this original work of a beautiful green butterfly with some small elements for the card maker to use by choice.
I have used all the elements provided with the sheet several times and printed the sheet onto 3 different types of copy paper and card to achieve the result of my completed card.
I made a 80gsm copy of the sheet and used the main element as the backing sheet, and the smaller elements of the flowers, bows and butterfly I set aside to use on the insert panels.
The CB 120gsm matte white copy I used to cut away the outside frame from the main element and set this aside to also use on the insert panel.
I also cut out all the smaller elements and set these aside to attach using the step by step method to complete the decoupage on the card front.
I used a 200gsm CB gloss photo copy card to cut out the 2 butterflies from the sheet and set them aside to use as part of the decoupage.
The rest of this sheet I have saved to make another card. I made the main card from a cream 120gsm card which I cut at 28 x 14cm and scored it and folded it.
I used a green metallic pen and ruler to define the outside edges of this cream card front. I used a section of the 120gsm white matte card to cut at 11 x 10.75cm and defined the outside edges in the same manner as the card front.
I then used the same pen to define the edges of the full brown framed 80gsm copy and attached it to the white 11 x 10.5 cm backing sheet using regular D.S. tape.
I attached the aqua ribbon across the front of this brown framed backing sheet 2.25cm up from the lower edge using D.S. tape.
I made a pale green linen textured backing sheet cut at 12cm square, and used the ruler and same green pen to define the edges before attaching the completed brown framed image and backing sheet to the front of this green backing sheet using padded D.S. tape..
I then attached the ribbon around to the back of the green backing sheet before attaching this to the card front using regular D.S tape.
I used a brown fine line permanent pen to define the outside edges of the main central 120gsm image and then attached it to the card front using padded D.S. tape.
I was then able to use the step by step method to attach the matte card elements of the decoupage.
I drew the feelers using a fine line black pen. I then cut out from the gloss butterfly image the complete butterfly and attached it using D.S padded squares.
The second copy of the gloss butterfly I used the body and top 2 wings only to attach using small D.S. padded squares.
I added the sentiment to some green card and attached it to the card front. To make the insert I used a pale green copy paper cut at 27.5 x 13.5 cm and attached with D.S tape to the centre fold.
I attached the paper copy of the butterfly to the left hand side, the paper copy of the frame on the right hand side and included 2 bows and a spray of flowers, to tie together the theme of the card front and the insert.
I made a simple bow using the rabbit ears method and attached it to the top of the card front using red power tape.
The result is this beautiful card which will suit so many occasions.
Thank you Del, I love this design and I am sending you a virtual hug. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
