I have used this design as a topper on a card front and as an insert for a different card design.
This design was from a previous purchase, Ed034, cup281042_1549. It is so versatile and so light and feminine and will suit almost any celebration.
I printed it onto CB 180gsm white card and cut out the image supplied. Before I attached any backing sheets, I measured up 5cm from the bottom edge of the main image, and using D.S. tape, and centring the ribbon, I attached a 16cm length of pale aqua, 1.5cm wide, satin ribbon, across the back of the main image.
I used D.S. tape to attach this to the largest silver pearl backing sheet, which measures 15.5 x 11.5cm. The next backing sheet is a deep rose pink and measures 16 x 12cm, and is attached using padded D.S. tape.
The next backing sheet is attached using the same tape and is a deep dark shade of purple, which measures 16.25 x 12.25cm.
Before I attached this topper to the main card, I used silver glitter purple peel off strips to attach to, both the main image edges as a frame, and, to the silver pearl backing sheet as another frame.
I then used strips of rhinestone style jewels to fill the space between the 2 rows of peel off strips, adding mauve jewels to the corners and intermittently along the straight edges.
I did not cover the satin ribbon with the jewels.
The main card is a CB 200gsm gloss white, which I have printed with large line drawings of flowers on a pale aqua background.
I have used this in the insert as well. I cut this main card at 17.5 x 14 cm, and scored it and folded it before attaching the completed topper with D.S. padded tape.
I made a simple bow, using the same aqua ribbon, attaching it with power tape.
I made 3 different tiny ribbon rosebuds. I made one using the aqua ribbon, one using mauve grosgrain ribbon, and one using a pink and white ribbon.
I have prepared a tutorial for making these rosebuds, as they are so easy to make, and you can use small scraps of ribbon to make them in a few minutes.
To make the bead chain I used 5 mauve rice beads and one 2 sided rhinestone bead, which I anchored with a tiny pink seed bead, and worked the thread back though all the beads to stitch together with the three rose buds.
I anchored these with white glue beside the bow. I added pink jewels to the inside of the wine glasses and used a silver glitter pen to colour the sparkle and draw some bubbles.
I used 3 different sized pearls for 3 of the flower centres.
I then made the insert using the same print as previously used for the main card, onto regular copy paper, and added some of the aqua ribbon and some clip art images of wine glasses.
I have used liquid chalk to give a smudge look to the insert panels, but I left the verse area blank, as I don’t have a home for this card as yet.
It will suit graduation day, Mother’s day, birthday, missing you, hello, thinking of you and so many more I know this card will have a home very soon.
Thank you, Nick, for this delightful design. Pamela Horton.
