Today I have made three greeting cards using this design. Due to the universal greeting use, as a birthday, Mother’s day, thank you, and even Sympathy, I have then been able to implement using the supplied sentiments and the extra handy supplied blank sentiments.
I printed the sheet 3 times, making the main image measure 12.5cm square for each one, onto good quality card and used the first copy and the mauve lace frame from the second copy, to make a birthday greeting card.
I prepared an ivory cream card cut at 30 x 15cm to cover the insert with, cup814313_79993, Christmas Lace Effect.
I have changed the hue of this background sheet to be a very pale mauve.
I used a silver broad tipped silver metallic pen to define both the inside and outside edges of the ivory cream card.
I attached the main image onto the prepared 14.75cm square black backing sheet and attached the silver peel off strip very close to the edges of the main image.
I attached the blue, mauve spot ribbon across 3.5cm down from the top edge of the black backing sheet and secured the tails at the back.
I attached this to the card front using D.S. tape. I then used the second copy of the main image to carefully cut away the mauve lace, retaining the picot edges of the main image and the outside silver shaded frame from the copy of the second main image.
I used red power tape to attach the lace to the card front and attached the peel off silver strip along the lace outside edges.
I completed the decoupage supplied and attached the birthday sentiment, using padded D.S. tape and squares. I made a matching bow to complete the embellishments.
I then used the outer silver shaded frame to attach to the front of the copy of the verse I have chosen from the free verses list.
I also used the larger version of the decoupage piece from sheet 2 as part of the insert. I have made card 2, using the blank sentiment as I will keep it for a future need.
I have used the cream main card cut at 28 x14cm to score and fold and used a gold tipped metallic permanent pen to define all the edges.
I have made the topper by backing the picot edges main image to attach to the same cup814313_79993 backing sheet which is copied in a deep purple.
I have used D.S. tape to attach, approximately 65cm of, ivory lace leaving a fraction more than 1cm exposed, onto all 4 sides by folding the lace carefully at each corner and securing with a tiny amount of white glue, then holding it firmly for a minute to allow it to grip.
I then attached the gold ribbon across, being careful to not crush the lace edges as I secured the tails at the back.
I used red power tape to attach to the backing sheet, and peeled this off to attach this topper to the card front.
By not taping the lace edges, this has kept the soft effect of the lace unspoiled. I have used only the smaller image, as part of the decoupage. I have prepared the mauve paper flower and attached it using padded D.S. tape.
I have attached the short length of gold ribbon onto the left hand side using a loosely tied single knot, using narrow red power tape.
I have used a plain cream insert and left the area blank. The third card I have made as a Sympathy message.
This card was made very quickly as I used all the images supplied to attach to a 14.5cm soft blue backing sheet and the decoupage using padded D.S. tape.
I have used a white 15cm prepared card front to define all edges using a silver metallic pen and attached the prepared topper.
I attached 3 layers of silver peel off strips to give definition to the images, attached a silver bow and a pearl gem to each corner.
I have used the cup 814313_79993 in a silver hue for the insert.
I will use this design many times for many occasions and celebrations as the choice to spend some time and a little effort using different techniques and skills, or to be able to make a quick and easy card with short notice is important to me when I am choosing a design to purchase from so many clever designers.
Thank you Patricia, I hope you like the collection I have made with this beautiful design. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
