This was a perfect choice for me to purchase, and make as we have a dear Quilting expert member of our Charity Craft group having a birthday next month.
I printed the sheet onto good quality paper so that the main image measured 11cm square and then twice more, so that the main image measured 14cm square.
I have used a pale silver mauve prepared 15cm square card as the main card and edged it with a blue metallic permanent pen.
The cream 14cm square backing sheet is edged with the same blue pen, the 12.5cm square burnt orange backing sheet is edged with a mauve silver metallic pen and the 11cm square, bright yellow backing sheet is edged with the same silver pen.
I have attached the cream backing sheet and then the burnt orange backing sheet together using D.S. tape and then attached the 13.5cm ivory paper doily.
I then attached the yellow backing sheet, and wrapped the dark green satin ribbon across 4cm up from the lower edge of the cream backing sheet.
I was then able to attach the main image to this set of backing sheets before using D.S. tape to attach the completed topper to the card front.
I cut out all the elements from the smaller sheet, and reserving the small image of the sewing machine for part of the insert, I used padded D.S. tape to attach the rest of the small elements.
Before finishing the inside of the card I have pierced a hole in the top right hand corner of the card front and attached a commercial flower using the attached split pin.
I have used the same cream card for the insert, cutting one piece at 14cm square and using the floral frame from one of the larger images to cut down to fit and matting them together and then attaching them to the open left hand side of the card.
For the folded insert section I have cut the cream card at 24 x 14cm and scored and Valley folded it at 14cm in from the right hand side.
I have edged this on all sides and the centre fold using the same blue pen before attaching it onto the right hand side.
I have printed and attached the verse I have chosen from the free verse section onto this larger section and then repeated the attachment of the floral frame.
I have used the 2 different sized cotton reels and the retained small sewing machine image and the gold peel off sentiment as embellishments.
This has allowed enough room for all the members of our group to write a greeting. I have completed the card front embellishments with a matching green bow. This design has such universal appeal and I will be able to use it for so many celebrations.
I really love this design so thank you for offering this design for purchase. I plan to make tiny gift cards with the elements left over after completing this project. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
