Thank you for this delightful design. I tried something different with the making this time. I used a dk cream A.4 good quality card finished at.29.5x21cm. I used a pale beige etched paper to cover the card front.
The same paper I will use in the insert.
I used C.B's Matte paper to print 2 copies of the sheet.I cut the outside frame off sheet 1 and backed it with firm card board using wet glue, then allowed time for it to dry between waxed paper under a weight.
I then used this same sheet to cut around the edge of the lace and then backed it with card board as before.
While it dried I cut out all the elements from this same sheet.I backed the "cork" oval
with card board. I then cut the aperture out from sheet 2 and used a gold broad nib liquid gold pen to edge the aperture opening, and both the outer & inner of the frame, also the aperture and the outside edge of the lace that was cut out from sheet 1.. This made it very easy to put the topper together step by step. I used a paper scrap the same size as the 2nd topper to trace the exact position of the " cork" oval. I attached the oval in place as drawn and used d.s tape to attach it to the back of the main topper, then d.s taped it to the backing sheet on the card front. I used thick foam D.s squares to attach the lace section of the first topper to the card front. Next I d.s taped the frame and used foam d.s squares to attach the sentiment. Next I completed the decoupage cala lillies. I have left the centre blank as I intend to sew a jump ring through from the front to attach some pearl pear-shaped earings with green rhinestones to hang there as my gift.
After I have done so I will place the insert to cover the stitching. i am so thrilled with the result thank you again. Pamela Horton Wellinton Point Qld
I chose a cream card as the base card, I printed out this design on nice white 100gsm quality paper then I also printed out the old lady for centre of the card and laminated both designs.
Then cut out the aperture and used the brown oval as the base for the old lady and stacked the layers with foam tape for the lady and lilies then I added the Happy birthday tag.
I have left a space for me to personalize the card with grandma, nanna or grandmother .
