Ascot Belle Backing Paper 1Completed by Gwyneth George

I printed this backing design, together with background cup438856_719 and one of the backgrounds from cup76782_99 at half size onto a sheet each of A4 300gsm Super Smooth white cardstock. I took an A4 sheet of frosted silver cardstock, scored it and folded it in half before rounding the corners with a punch. I cut a panel out of one of the backgrounds which I also used a punch to round the corners before attaching to the card using finger-lift tape. I cut a medium sized circle out of this backing using my circle scissors and cut a smaller circle out of the third backgorund as well. These were also stuck to the card front, with the smaller one offset on the larger, again using finger-lift tape. I used some flower paper punches to punch out a lot of flowers from what I had left of the three sheets of cardstock. These were shaped using a ball tool and my hands before attaching to the card front using glue gel. I finished off with the greeting "Gyda Chydymdeimlad", which is Welsh for "With Sympathy".

This card shows how cutting floral embelishments out of the same patterns as the background means that the colours are bound to work. This sheet has a very subtle pattern which means it was a nice contrast to the other more busy backgorunds I used for this card.
