Lace Band Card Background 2Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

This sheet has been an invaluable source for a number of cards I have made and some I have uploaded in the last week.

Here I have made a show-case of the Lace Band Background 2, cup1026013_1827, in the making and completing the card, Vintage Victorian Girl decoupage, cup367513_117, a design by Pamela West.

I have used it as part of the backing, by printing the green version at 12.5cm x 8.5cm and defining the edges all round using a mauve metallic pencil.

I then attached this to the 13 x 9.5cm black backing sheet using D.S. tape before I used the 1cm wide lime green satin ribbon to attach to the centre of the black lace band and secure the tails at the back of the black backing sheet.

I used padded D.S. tape to attach the 2 backing sheets to a bright apple green card, cut at 14 x 10.5cm, which is the same size as the ivory card front, using regular D.S. tape.

I completed the card, which has now been uploaded and can be viewed on my home page. I have used the yellow version of this Lace Band Background as an insert for the card I have made from Rudbeckiaspyr, Rudbeckia’s Pyramid a design by Diane Allen.

The completed topper is in autumn tones, so the yellow background is a perfect match for the theme I was portraying.

The left hand side has the sheet printed at 12.5 x 9cm and is matted to the main orange 28x14cm backing sheet with a small version of the card front attached.

The right hand side of the insert has 2 of the images used in a cut and paste technique to make one image 14.5 x 9cm, to which I have attached the verse I have chosen printed onto yellow copy paper and attached using my Glue roller tape.

I have also included a photograph of the inserts without the extra width added to the right hand side, which I have used in a repeat of the same card front, but for a different occasion.

The background sheet has such universal use as a main backing sheet froe a topper or as part or as the entire insert.

The black band area can be used and is ideal for sentiment or ribbon attachments.
