I printed the design onto good quality, 250gsm, white card. AFter trimming I scored the card in at 1", 3", 4", 6" and 7" in from a short side and 1" in from both long sides. I cut off the excess and used a piece of this to make the gift tag. After cutting the necesary notches on the box piece I stuck the flaps in place using template double sided tape. I decorated the box with a row of silver border peeloffs. The gift tag was decorated with the same border peeloffs. As I intend to use the box to present a gift of a blue beaded bracelet I took a headpin and threaded three beads of the type used for the bracelet onto this before piercing a hole in the gift card and threading it thorugh. The top of the headpin was then turned into a loop and some silver ribbon was threaded through and tied around the box. As a finishing decoration I placed a butterfly embelishment on the gift tag.

As this backing design is quite subtle it is suitable for so many different types of uses. It would be great to use for matting and layering and background to toppers on a card as it wouldn't take over and swamp the design.
