Hi everyone! Hereâ??s a set of designs which make a large gift bag 19 x 15 x 6 cm approx. (7.5 x 5.75 x 2.25 inches).
You make the bag by printing the sheet twice â?? thatâ??s a large gift bag for only 80p!
Tabs are provided to use as a gift tag and/or a closing piece. Each design incorporates a panel on which you can add your chosen sentiment so they are suitable for many different occasions.
You can even use the side of the bag to make a matching card if you wish. See the tutorial for instructions and finishing ideas.
There are 20 designs to choose from. To make your gift bag: 1) print the sheet twice onto your favourite good quality card.
If you donâ??t want a white interior, print a co-ordinating backing paper onto the reverse of each sheet 2) cut out the two pieces and two tabs 3) score and mountain fold the four lines, (not the Y shape on the side piece) to make the half bag shape 4) score and valley fold the Y shape 5) glue the thin side pieces (marked A) and attach the two bag sides together, hiding this glued part inside 6) glue the two pieces and the bottom of the sides (marked B) to the interior of one of the bottom pieces (marked C), hiding the B pieces inside 7) finally glue the second C part to its matching piece Finishing ideas: a) Punch two holes near the top of each side and thread with ribbon, raffia, chain etc to make two handles b) If your ribbon or handle material is fine, you can thread it through with a large needle c) Consider threading through the two tabs, white sides inside to make a gift tag on which you can write an interior message d) Use one or both tabs as a top closer for the bag, instead of or as well as handles e) Add a peel-off sentiment to the panel on the bag and decorate with other bling, peel-offs, bows, ribbons, butterflies etc I hope you like these designs and have fun with them! I wanted a sturdy bag so I printed the sheet out twice onto 300gsm Super Smooth white cardstock. I scored both pieces and cut them out.
I plated three strands of bakers twine to make a handle and sandwiched this between the two side panels when I attached them to each other using ultra tacky double sided tape.
I used the same tape to glue the bottom in place as well. I printed the sheet out quite small to get the same image to make a little tag to put on the bag.
