2021 Calendar Red Rose Deco

This is the 3rd of the calendar style card making sheets designed by Scouse Mouse Creations available for purchase I have used to make a small folded 2021 calendar notelet book and matching greeting card, for which I have written a tutorial.

This one is made using the image from cup1069953_1247, Red Rose Deco. I printed the image supplied twice onto the same A4 sheet of white satin finished matte 170gsm card. I used one copy of the sheet and one copy of the actual 2021 calendar image to make the Calendar notelet book.

I was then able to use the image of the elegant 1920’s art deco style elegantly dressed lady to attach onto the card front and use the extra calendar image on the inside of the notelet book.

I have used the first copy to cut, at 18.25cm x13.5cm, by retaining a 2mm wide margin on the left- hand side and a wider 3mm margin on the right- hand side.

I turned the sheet over and scored and folded this in the centre by turning the sheet face down. This has formed a mountain fold. I cut the extra calendar image to measure 9.25cm and before I attached this using red power tape, I used a light red permanent pen to define all the inside and outside edges of the notelet book.

I then punched 2 small holes and threaded 1metre of black 3mm silver glitter edged ribbon through the holes and tied a double bow.

I made the 20 notelet sheets with a dark grey border with the message, Smile at someone new today, in pale print on the bottom edge.

I attached the first one with red power tape as it will stay permanently in this position.

I have then used my glue tape runner across the very top edge of each of the sheets in turn and attached each one carefully.

I have written a tutorial which is on the site, for this method, which includes easy to follow directions with photographs of each step.

I have made a matching card with a Christmas message inside as the items I have made are being used as Christmas gifts for my card and craft friends with whom we have been self- distancing since January.

I recommend using this lighter weight card and the size I have suggested, as this will make them a handy and very convenient hand bag item.

I have made the greeting card, which measures 20.5 x12.5cm, using a light soft reddish tan quilted look print on the outside.

I scored and folded it before attaching the gold, gloss metallic11.5 x 9.5cm backing sheet using D.S. tape. I cut the main image with a tiny 1mm white border and used a gold metallic fine line permanent pen to define the edges.

I allowed this to dry before attaching it to the topper front using red power tape.

I then used the same pen to define the edges inside and out on this card. I have printed the verse, which you may use as I have posted it as a Christmas message on the free verses site, as a landscape image and trimmed it to fit and using the same pen defined the edges.

I have attached a small image of the finished card onto the left side of the insert as an extra embellishment.

We have an Open Day planned for this Saturday and it will be like no other, as there will be no sitting down, coffee, cake, guest speaker and just a few people at a time allowed in the Church hall, with a quick walk through.

It is so disappointing, but understandable, even though our fund raising to post our Christmas boxes will be much reduced.
