Jiggys Hatchday StampCompleted by Gwyneth George
OccasionI printed the digi stamp onto 300gsm Super Smooth white cardstock at a greatly reduced size and then coloured him in using my promarkers. I then cut him out using a metal die. I took an A4 sheet of red cardstock and scored and folded it in half, and then cut a piece from the bottom to make it a shorter card. I also cut a 2" wide piece off the rest of the white cardstock the digi had been cut from. I used a Celtic ribbon punch on the cut off red piece and a Celtic border punch on both sides of the white strip of card and the edge of the main card. I then attached the Celtic "ribbons" directly to the card front and used 1mm deep, double sided, foam tape to attach the coloured in digi. I finished off the card with a greeting "Genedigaeth eich Plentyn" which is Welsh for "The Birth of your Child", and on the inside I put an insert with the greeting "Llongyfarchiadau Ar Enedigaeth Eich Cymro Bach Newydd" (Congratulations On The Birth Of Your New Little Welsh Man).
I know that red is an unusual colour for a new birth card, but with a red dragon being the emblem for Wales I thought it worked. Nothing to stop the same image being coloured in as a green dragon, purple dragon, or using pastel or really bright colours. The choice is up to the cardmaker.
