Exploding Card - Vintage Purple FlowersCompleted by Jane Williams

All adhesive used was a double sided tape dispenser.

Printed out twice on normal paper as instructed. Cut out the two large squares and folded - the picture goes on the inside.

Found some 12*12 card and cut off a 3" strip - warning, the strip intended to cover this is *not* quite 3 " across, so you may want to size your card strip to fit it. Glued the cover strips to one side, matching carefully so the join wasn't obvious - there's plenty of spare for this.

Glued one folded square to the other side of the card strip, then scored the card just beyond the tip. Folded on the score. Applied glue to the other side of the folded paper, then folded the card strip over it and pressed down: we now have half of the "exploding" card. Glued the second "exploding" square of paper so the flat edge was against the first one, in the centre of the card. Scored the card strip just beyond the tip, and repeated the fold and glue so both halves "exploded" when opened. Trimmed the card strip to fit, so both ends met in the centre with no overlap.

Found some purple ribbon - you need a foot to go round the card, and probably another foot for the bow.

Took the small square pictures and the sentiment, and mounted them on white card, then used a dark pen to cover the cut edges.

Placed the ribbon centrally across the back of the card, and glued the sentiment over it making sure the glue held the ribbon firmly. Did the same on the front with the small pictures, placing them in the centre of each half and over the ribbon.

Tied the ribbon in a bow, then trimmed the ends.

It's easy once you get the hang of it.

When I come to use it, I'll probably add a personalised message on the inside centre, across the two "explosions".
