This is a timeless design, By Marijke Kok, which I originally purchased on November 2013 and now have decided to remake it and as result upload it as my original make must be in quarantine.
My skills in uploading are much improved and here is my new version.
I have made an A5 easel style card which closes flat. I have chosen to use lace, lavender pink organza ribbon and 4 tiny white rose buttons as extra embellishments. I printed the sheet provided twice onto an A4 170gsm white satin finished card.
I used one copy as the main backing sheet and used 2 sections of the second sheet as extra decoupage.
The outer lace frame I have cut as a scalloped edge and set it aside to use on the base of the easel.
The inner glowing golden roses and fan with feathers, I have cut out, attached the organza ribbon under the bow and around onto either side securing the tails at the back and then used and attached this work as the decoupage on to the main sheet using padded D.S. tape.
I then prepared the easel frame and base. I have used the purple shade of 200gsm card and used 2 sections to make the easel. I made the 19x13cm base first.
I attached white1.5cm wide lace on top of and around the outer edge of the scalloped cut lace frame attaching it firmly folding and pleating the corners using narrow 3mm wide red power tape.
I set this aside to make the next section of the easel. Using the same purple card, which measures 36.5cm long and 9.5cm wide.
From left to right, I have valley folded at 1.5cm,14.5cm and 29cm, turned this section over to then attach the last 7cm to the back of the prepared base card.
I then used 2 rows of red power tape to fold back the 1.5cm section. I used some purple card and padded D.S tape to place centrally and up 3cm from the bottom front edge of the base.
I then attached the finished and decoupaged card front onto the easel font allowing the lace to gently extend beyond the purple backing at the top and bottom edges and extend right to the edge of the easel card front.
This way it will fold over onto the back section to fit inside a flat envelope, which will need to measure 8.5” x6”, (21.5x15cm).
It is a stunningly beautiful design which I will be able to use for very special occasions or celebrations.
I have placed some punched out tiny stars in an arc and used peel off purple-coloured letters to form the word CELEBRATE on the top of the base section of the completed card.
