Strutting Horse Iris Folding PatternCompleted by Gwyneth George
OccasionI printed a green, mottled, backing paper onto Centura Pearl Snow White Card and then printed the sheet onto the reverse.
I also printed the sheet onto cheap white paper.
Using the image on the reverse as a guide I cut the horse shape out of the green card with a craft knife and then tidied it up with a small scisors.
I placed the card face down onto the image on the plain paper and stuck it down with low tack tape.
I took strips of iris folding paper in two shades of brown, a couple of strips of dark brown and lots of a bronzy brown.
I folded over the edge of each strip of iris folding paper and cut them to size as needed. Followed the pattern to lay down the paper, using the darker paper for the muzzle and hoves. I used a roler glue pen to stick the paper down as I was going. After finishing the iris folding I trimmed the green card and then embossed the corners.
I sued a clear ruler with evenly spaced holes to prick through a border as well. I made a large card by folding over an inch of an A5 Centura Pearl Snow White card and stuck another card to the inside back of the fold, trimming this back card to fit.
I stuck the iris folded horse pannel to the centre of this, using double sided sticky tape around the sides and running some more of the glue roller pen over the rest of the back to keep everything in palce.
I stuck a fine gold border peeloff aroun the centre pannel, leaving a mm gap. I stuck some corner peeloffs at each corner.
To finish off I embossed a banner, cutt it out and trimmed it with gold peeloffs, including a greeting. (When my mother saw the horse pannel before I mounted it on the card she said it looked good enough to frame and put on the wall.
I may suggest to whoever receives the card from me that they could do that when they take down their cards.)
