Going to the PromCompleted by Donna Ritchie
OccasionI love iris folding but using the traditional folded paper I find is too bulky for cards so I 'cheat' and use quilling paper strips. For this card I used 9mm metallic finish strips.
If you are using a tri-fold card do the iris folding on the centre panel so that you can fold the side in and cover the strips of paper. If you are using a normal card cover the back of your work with matching card or an insert.
When adding the bodice of the dress take care to keep the strip between the dress and the suit in its marked place. The dress stabilises this strip making the suit easier to make. Carefully fold strips 18-22 so that the coat has straight edges.
I finished by cutting the shirt collar and a bow tie from the matching quilling strips, then added rhinestones and a peel off necklace.
With a little care this is a wonderful card to give someone celebrating a formal occasion - be it at school or possibly awards at work.
