SWINGING DOOR CARD, ENVELOPE, DECOUPAGE, LINERS - HE REIGNSCompleted by Donna Ritchie

There was some confusion with the construction instructions but Janice answered my questions very quickly and has now amended the instructions coming with this design. With the new instructions this card was very quick and easy to make.

The first picture shows the front of the card sitting on the envelope which is included with your purchase. I have flat stuck the extra angels and kings to the doors (you can see their outlines in the 2nd picture with the doors open) and have carefully continued the door crease THROUGH the kings. I have added the shepherd on 1mm foam and the star on 2mm foam. The 'JOY' at the bottom is added on 2mm foam. On the back of the card (not shown) I have raised the family group on 1mm foam.

I have added the shaped wooden pieces to the insides of the doors and used a dark brown ink pad on any white edges showing. The instructions say to just add the picture of Jesus with the animals to the back of the opening - to keep the inside of the card neat I have added a blank piece of card to cover the entire side.

I have then added the beautiful insert of baby Jesus to the inside of the card. There is the option to decoupage Jesus and the star but I chose to keep the inside of my card flat.

The included envelope is very easy to make and also comes with the options to decoupage the various characters. I decided against this as Australia Post has enough trouble delivering FLAT envelopes, I didn't want to risk my card not arriving. If you are hand-delivering this card the extra layers would be a lovely touch.
