Easel Tea Bag Folding Kit #6Completed by Donna Ritchie

This is a very quick and easy card to make - the only hard part is deciding which of the 4 included designs you want to use for your teabag folding. I printed the base and the front on matte photo paper and the 3 sheets for the envelope and the teabag designs on good paper. I printed the stopper sheet on good paper then backed my chosen stopper with a scrap of photo paper.

I used a basic square fold for my central medallion with the 3rd design on the included sheet. To make the medallion I needed 8 squares so I simply printed the teabag sheet 3 times on plain paper. Do NOT print it on card as you need to be able to be able to fold it easily and crisply - the original 2.5" square will fold down to 1.25" when finished using this fold. My 2nd picture shows the steps involved in this fold.

You fold top to bottom with wrong sides (WS) together, unfold, then fold right to left WS together. With RIGHT sides together you then fold on ONE diagonal - for the bottom 2 designs any diagonal works as they are identical, for the top 2 designs fold ALONG the diagonal between pattern and plain. Unfold and, with WS still facing you, push the diagonal fold in to the middle (see bottom left of 2nd picture). Crease sharply and you should have a diamond piece in front of you.

If you have folded across the coloured diagonal in either of the top 2 teabags you will have a piece that is half solid colour and half pattern. If this has happened simply unfold and use the other diagonal.

In my 3rd picture you see the different patterns that each teabag design makes using this fold. The top example shows the top teabag design folded along the diagonal (on the left side) and across the diagonal on the right side - with a sample diamond shape beside it. Bottom left is the 2nd design and bottom right is the 4th design. To make these medallions you simply glue one side of your finished diamond up to the centre of a 2nd diamond, matching the points and patterns. Continue till you have glued the 8th diamond then add glue to your original and glue it in place to complete the medallion. You then just flat stick the completed medallion in place.
