Grocer On The Shelf.

I love these cards, unusual and so very many to choose from. They look fabulous on a shelf, and we still have one on display for over 4 yrs, hubby refuses to put it away, so I tend to make these to last!

I printed onto a good heavy weight 300 gsm card stock, printing the patterned backing provided on the reverse. I used my SNC to cut them out, though they are simple and easy to do by hand. I then went around each cut edge with a coordinating distress marker to cover the white cut edges. When assembling I place the top of the character and glue it in place then using the provided envelope, I fold the card up and use the envelope as a guide as to how far down or up to place the bottom half of the card, so that it will fit in the envelope nicely ( I have been caught out before with the length of the legs so now I always check). Use foam pads to create the depth for the layers, and I always add some glossy accents to the eyes and glasses if worn. The Grocer is a bit unusual in that it has quite a few paper Toile pieces for the counter display, but as I do actually know a grocer then this will come in very handy indeed!
