Birthday Cake Shaped Fold Card Kit
This versatile shaped card can be used to send Birthday greetings to almost any recipient, young or old, male or female. It can also be used to make party invitations. Three different inserts (including a blank one); and four different sentiment panel layers (including two different blank ones) are included for flexibility.
It?s quick and easy to make, as the shapes involved are simple and the pieces are large, so they are easy to cut out. If you have been wanting to try making a shaped card but have hesitated because you don?t want something complicated to cut out then this card is a good one to start with. It?s perfect for any less experienced card makers and it?s also handy for any last minute cards you may need.
The card can be left unlayered, and used as a quick card, or you can add the optional decoupage layers that are included. The card comes with a matching envelope but is also designed to fit a standard 5x7 inch envelope if you only want to make the card. Step by step instructions are included on each of the sheets.
This kit contains NINE sheets to choose from in all:
- a shaped card base sheet with sentiment panel (Blow Out the Candles)
- a card layers sheet with the first two optional decoupage layers for the front of the card and four sentiment panel layers (Blow Out the Candles; You?re Invited; and two different blank sentiment panel layers that can be used to devise your own sentiments)
- a second card layers sheet with the remaining optional decoupage layers for the front of the card
- a fully shaped card insert sheet which has been left blank for your own greeting or message
- a second insert sheet with a Birthday greeting (Happy Birthday)
- a final insert sheet which can be used to make party invitations
- an envelope front sheet
- an envelope back sheet
- a matching backing paper that you can print onto the back of your card base sheet if you would like the inside of the card to be patterned
All the sheets are 300dpi high resolution sheets for quality printing.

This fun kit was printed out on a combination of textured gold backed card, good quality decoupage paper and photo paper.
It was then cut, scored, folded and glued where needed, then the shaped decoupage and sentiment were added using pinflair glue.
I printed the base card on to 300gsm card, and all other sheets on to 120gsm paper. Cut out all elements. Folded the shaped card and layered. Added a gem heart and glitter to embellish and finished with one of the included inserts.
An envelope is also included in the kit. A very sweet design.
The card base was printed onto 250gsm matt photo paper, with the backing paper printed onto the reverse side, while the remaining sheets were printed onto 128gsm matt photo paper.
The card and envelope were then made up as per the instructions included on the sheets.
No additional embellishments have been added.
