Great Escape - Lion
An 8x8 card kit inspired by my previous 'stepping out' card ranges.
The base card has a shaped doorway trough which the animal of the card title is 'escaping' from the view which can be seen through the opaque door. This gives the effect of a 3 dimensional card front.
A large sentiment tag sits top left, and decorative metal finials sit in the card corners.
The kit includes the card front, a card back/insert which ties in with the card front, and decoupage for the label, finials, door and animal
The background seen through the door has been left in place to preserve the decoupage.
The sentiment label is blank for your own greeting so you can use the card for any occasion you wish.

I chose to make this one which is called the Great Escape - Lion as a retirement card for a man. I printed the main front onto a smooth white card stock and a second time on gloss photo . I used a scalloped 8inch card and painted around the edges to match the jungle ferns. I used a cereal box to stiffen the front even more as I wrapped the photo around it. Then i cut out the two jumping lions and the mirror for decoupage added with DS Foam. Inside right I added the insert and “Enjoy every moment”.
On the left I made a flip up with the lion and under that parchment for Good luck and well wishes.
