Trimming the Tree 9 - Pocket Bauble Surprise Kit
This kit makes an unusual card/gift/decoration. It's not a card that stands up, but a pocket with an aperture front and back so the front and back of the contents can be seen.
Pull up the on the ribbon (you will need to attach your own) and out comes a beautiful bauble to hang on the tree, There are also 2 bonus papers to make different cards and use the baubles as a topper.

Each kit comes with 2 main sheets and 2 backing papers. I printed the 2 main sheets onto a good quality 200gsm card stock, and cut out by hand. I backed the bauble front with bookbinding glue to the matching back, and for good adhesion I then ran it through my die cutting machine between 2 pieces of copier paper. Using a firm embossing mat, I used a medium ball tool to curve the edges of the decoupage centre, before mounting it with foam pads.
For the case/pocket, I used acetate in the cutouts for extra protection, before using bookbinders glue to adhere the 2 sides. Due to the nature of the Pocket the inside of the sleeve isnt visible until you squeeze it open, but you can use one of the 2 included backing papers to cover the insides if you wish. I only added ribbon to the design to provide a good hanging point. It does come with a selection of sentiments, but I dont add mine at this stage, until I know who it is going to first.
