Easter Egg Card Egg And Gift Box 3Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionThis is the second project I have completed as part of my Easter collection this week and both of them are designs by Crafty Tiny Tales.
This delightfully cute item features a rabbit with floppy ears sitting in a basket of flowers.
I printed the card at actual size onto 170gsm white satin photo paper and printed the matching, perfectly sized, insert onto 80gsm good quality copy paper.
I cut out all the related elements for the decoupage section of the topper and using padded D.S. tiny squares made up the corner flowers and the 2 main elements for the topper decoupage.
Before I attached these to the card front, I used a craft knife to make a tiny 1.75cm slit across, vertically, the left edge of the ribbon image on the card front.
I threaded 30cm of 2.5cm wide blue satin ribbon through this slit and making sure the tails were the same length, I attached 10cm of the ribbon to the insert and 10cm to the card front using a glue tape runner.
Using the glue tape runner, I then attached the insert. I attached all the completed elements to the card front and using tiny spots of white glue attached the pink gems to the 4 corner elements and in 2 places on the main decoupage image.
I tied a matching bow and used the2 exposed 5cm long 2 ribbon tails to tie and hold the bow in position.
To complete the beautiful box, I have printed the 2 images supplied onto 170 gsm photo paper and printed onto the back using a bright backing paper, pp2020-5, from the set, Berry Sweet Mice Coordinating Papers, cup1093273_43865.
I have used D.S. red power tape on the 4 small flaps and on the 3.75x11cm fold section to complete the construction of the box bottom and top.
I have used 2 lengths of 34cm each of the matching blue ribbon to attach midway in line with the ribbon pattern on the inside using red power tape.
This will form the decorative embellishment bow on top of the box.
It is not meant to be a closure for the box. To make the egg ornament and stand, I have printed the images and embellishments provided onto 170gsm white photo paper and then printed the back of the sheet with pp2020-2 from the same set of coordinating backing papers as above.
This resulted in the stand and the egg being a little more sturdy and less likely to show white edges when cutting out the elements.
I used white glue to attach the egg pieces together, padded D.S. tape to complete the decoupage and attached the pink gems in place as extra embellishments.
I will place some tiny Easter eggs inside the box and will watch with delight the surprise an joy this beautiful gift will bring.
Thank you I love it. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
