I printed the inside mechanism onto 260gsm card for strength and then printed the opening panel onto a lighter weight card.

If you use as heavy weight card for this panel it can detach from the main mechanism.

I also used wet glue in the areas shown instead of tape as this too gives a stronger bond when opening and closing the card.

I printed the decoupage elements onto good quality 280gsm photographic paper and cut these out and assembled using thin foam tape.

I printed the panel for the front of the card onto good quality 280gsm photographic paper and cut it out.

I printed the insert onto 160gsm paper and attached this to the inside of the card using one strip of double sided tape on the area either side of the fold in the 6 x 6 scalloped edged card.

I applied strong double sided tape to each side of the mechanism when closed. I positioned the mechanism in the centre of the insert panels and removed the tape from the area visible.

I closed the card to adhere the mechanism in place, turned the card over and repeated on the other side.

The mechanism is now in place and will open the panel as shown when the card is opened. A beautiful and unusual card when completed.
