Bon Voyage Holiday Gatefold Card and Envelope Mini KitCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

I usually make my own envelopes for my finished cards,, however this cutie was too hard to resist to make and use for my fellow card making friend who is travelling overseas in May.

I printed the envelope sheets the actual size of 29.7x21.09cm.

I downloaded the greeting card sheets provided and printed them at 17.8cm x12.8cm onto satin finished white 170gsm card. I used a design of my own cup1036759_21027, Blue Sky with wispy white clouds as a backing sheet for each of the main elements.

I made the decoupage for the topper. I then made the main standing section of the support card using 200gsm ivory card cut at 15x25cm.

I covered this with the wispy cloud paper using super tac white glue and allowed this to dry before, mountain folding from the blue side at10.5cm and12.5cm.

I used red power tape and a little super tac white glue to attached the finished topper to the ivory side, which is the finished outside, of the card.

I was then able to cut away the excess, unwanted area using very sharp scissors, leaving the correct shape and size to attach the extra elements as the insert on to the blue section.

Note at the mountain fold at the top of the card, the card is still joined at the very top by 2.25cm.

I made a second card using the wispy blue sky printed as the main card, this saved a step but gave a much lighter weight to the finished card.

I used a smaller version of the envelope to attach and use for my personal message. This has made an amazingly perfect card for the occasion and the envelope is an added bonus to be used many times over.
