Soft Heart
I have design some book folding patters.
It?s a easy and fun way to reuse your old books. All you need is a book, ruler, pen and a craft knife / scissors.
In all kit?s there is a preview image, tutorial and pattern.
For this pattern you will need a book with at least 324 pages and 20 - 25cm in height.
Here is a tutorial on how to do book folding

I bought a book of the dimensions and page numbers necessary and followed the directions to make this. It involves simple counting, marking pages and then folding. It's quite easy, though it takes a little time, but it's exciting as you see the shape slowly start to emerge.
When I finished it, I added highlights of glitter here and there on the actual heart shape, although you can't really see it in the photo.
There are more photos in my gallery. This would make a novel gift for anyone you are fond of.
This is my very first attempt at book folding and I am just fascinated by it. I searched for the right size book and marked all the pages before folding. Once you start to do all the folding it comes together quite quickly.
I thought this would be an easy one to start with and now I know what I am doing I am ready for the word ones.
I can see this becoming quite addictive to me and I feel I am ready for a change now to do something different
This was my first attempt at book folding so I chose a very simple but effective design with not too much folding detail.
I was very pleased with the result and the directions were very easy to follow.
I coloured the edge and tied a red ribbon around it to finish the effect. One small word of advice.....when choosing a book, choose a novel-type book as the paper is heavier and will hold it's shape better than the Children's Britannica that I used.
