A perfect rose in full bloom with attached rose buds, all surrounded with lace, is always a perfect card to celebrate so many occasions. I printed off the sheet supplied, twice, onto 200gsm, white card.
As I wanted to keep both framed sections of the first copy intact, I used very sharp scissors, and a craft knife, to cut out the inner, mauve frame, away from the outer frame with the pearls and lace. To do this, I made a 45 degree cut into the lower right hand corner, to separate the 2 frames. I then used the second copy, to carefully cut out some of the elements to make a decoupage.
I used very tiny, and very sharp scissors, to cut out the 6 main pearls, the central rose, the 2 pink, rose buds, including the brown bud covers, the tallest closed bud, and the 2 leaves, which are enclosed with the ribbon. One of the lower brown leaves, I only used the lower half of the leaf, as this gave the image even more depth. I attached all the smaller items first, with tiny, padded double sided squares, and then the main rose with slightly larger D.S. Squares. I made, a deep rose coloured backing sheet, just a tad larger than the mauve frame, so it actually measures, 10.75cm x13.5cm. I edged this all round, with a glitter glue pen, in a deep pink shade. I mounted the larger lace frame onto the same deep rose coloured card, which I had cut at 17.5 x 13cm, using padded D.S. tape. I made sure the right hand corner join, sat really flat and neat. I then used small dots of wet glue, to attach a backing sheet, inside the frame. I used scrap card for this as it was not going to be visible. I then made the white card, to measure, 27cm x 17.5cm. I then, scored and folded it. Before I attached this to the backing sheets, I used a mauve 2.5cm wide satin ribbon, to attach to the front, of the lace framed backing sheet, 4cm up from the bottom edge, and firmly attached it at the back of the larger backing sheet with magic tape. I then, was able to use the D.S padded tape, to attach the larger lace frame, to the white card, and then the smaller decoupage framed section, using the same padded tape. I attached the sentiment frame and the simple bow I had made from the same mauve ribbon with padded D.S Squares.
A beautiful elegant card designed by Ceredwyn. I love this, and will have many uses for the cards, I will be able to make, using this design Thank You
