Tropical Parrot and Foliage
A beautiful card with a parrot and beautiful foliage has one greeting tag and a blank one

This design has natural depth in this tropical scene, as the viewer is looking towards the tropical rain forest down through the waterfall to the very colourful tropical ginger and hibiscus plants with the large philodendrons and the parrot nestled amongst the plants.
The macaw is beautifully perched as if it is surveying the glorious view. I printed the sheet provided, twice. I used a matte copy of the main image as the main backing sheet, and the gloss copy to cut out the frame including the attached plants as the first part of the decoupage.
I made the main card using a delicate pink print onto both back and front of the card. I cut it at 26 x 15cm and scored and folded it, before attaching the backing sheets.
The largest backing sheet is white and has part of the tropical scene from the matte copy in the left hand bottom corner and measures 14 x 10.5cm, and I edged this with a silver metallic pen.
The next backing sheet is also white and edged with the same pen. This backing sheet is cut at 13 x 9.5cm. I attached these 2 backing sheets together, using D.S. padded tape.
I used 3 lengths of 4mm wide dark aqua ribbon to attach across horizontally beginning at 3.25cm up from lower edge and keeping them 7mm apart.
I secured the ribbons at the back of the larger backing sheet before attaching the group to the main card using regular D.S. tape.
I then used an aqua marker and a royal blue marker to outline the backing sheets.
The main element which is the main scene I then attached onto the smaller top backing sheet. I cut out the gloss element to make the decoupage and attached each piece in a step by step method.
The insert already has the same delicate pink print on the inside of the card.
I was then able to cut out the matte copy of the parrot and plants to attach on the left hand side.
I used a blank sentiment to write hello and attach it under the parrot’s beak. The insert I have attached on the right hand side for the personal greeting or verse is a previous purchase, cup406974_874, called Champagne Wishes and violets.
This has made an absolutely delightfully bright and cheery card. As we live in the tropics it is a very topical choice and will suit many celebrations and occasions, from Get well, Mothers’ Day, Birthday and many, many more.
I will have great use for this design. Thank you, Ceredwyn. Pamela Horton
