Alegro Flowers with Verse and Bows Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

I have made a choice to use this beautiful Allegro design as a step by step decoupage to give the greeting card extra dimension.

However I will be able to use the design as a topper for a quick card in the future.

I have used the shades, from the design, in the main card, inserts and backing sheets. I printed the sheet provided twice onto the same A4 white 200gsm card and twice onto A4 white copy paper.

The 15x11cm pink backing sheet, the 14 x 10cm pale green backing sheet, the pastel green main card and the main image are all edged with a silver metallic pen.

D.S. tape is used to attach the backing sheets to the card front. The main pastel green card is cut at 24.5 x16cm and then using scalloped scissors, I have cut away 0.5cm from the front edge of the front right hand side of the open card, while it is face up.

Then I have turned the card over so that the inside section is now face up and scored this green card vertically at 11.25cm and then folded the green card.

I attached the scalloped edged lace on the inside of the front left hand side and the silver ribbon onto both the outside and inside of this edge using red power tape.

I folded the tails of the ribbon to form a flat bow and attached a silver glitter pearl.

Before I completed the decoupage I completed the 2 insert sections. I have used a copy paper version of the insert verse provided with the sheet to attach onto the left hand side of the open card.

I have made a separate insert folder from rose embossed pale pink 24.5cm x16cm paper which is scored and folded at the 11.5cm vertical line and attached a sentiment, some flowers from the copy paper image and a bow, from one of the images to the front page.

I attached the back of the back page of this folder onto the back inside section of the pastel green main card.

The open section of the extra insert I have embellished with some cut out bows, a sentiment and a gem.

This space is left for a special greeting and for the members of my Craft Group to be able to sign.

Before I attached the smaller elements to the 200 gsm topper, I have attached a silver ribbon across and around to the back to secure it and then used padded D.S tape to attach this to the card front.

I used a second copy of the main element to cut away the silver backing keeping all the floral and bow elements intact then attached this to the card front using D.S. padded tape.

I have added I extra bow and the flowers with the upper leaves as extra decoupage using padded small squares and some thick white glue.

I placed a gem at each of the corners and a sentiment from a previous purchase from a Ceredwyn design.

The completed card is really beautiful and shows all the shades in the original design by Ceredwyn and was easily and quickly assembled.

I will be able to use this design for so many different occasions and celebrations, including Easter and Mothers’ day and I have 2 inserts left over to use on another 2 further projects.
