Beautiful Roses on a Mono Frame Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

I printed the sheet provided twice, onto the one sheet of good quality white card, as I wanted to use the extra copy to decoupage, and then once more onto a lighter weight copy paper to use as part of the decoupage and also for the insert.

I have used a pale apricot textured card cut at 29 x 14.5cm as the main card and backing for the topper.

I scored and folded the apricot card before I attached the first copy of the main 13 x 12.5cm image to the card front using D.S. tape I attached the silver satin 2cm wide ribbon.

I used the second copy of the sheet provided to cut the lace and outer frame away from the main image, carefully, and reserved these two frames for part of the insert.

I reserved the remaining smaller main image for the card front. I then used the third copy of the image to remove the larger narrower frame then wrapped another length of the same ribbon across horizontally before attaching this to the card front using padded D.S. tape.

I then used the smaller reserved image to attach using padded D.S. tape. I used silver peel off strips and fancy silver lace peel of corners, the bow and the sentiment to add to the card front as embellishments.

To complete the insert, I have used Clare Walker’s, Christmas lace effect, cup814313_79993 and changed the hues to suit the silver grey theme, and printed it onto both sides of an A4 sheet and cut it down to measure27.5 x 14.25cm and scored it at 13cm in from the left hand side on the right side of the insert and I attached it 1mm in from the centre fold of the inside of the main apricot card.

I used the narrow frame and one small image for the left hand side of the insert. For the front of the insert I have attached some lace to the right hand edge and used peel off strips and a sentiment in the centre.

The open right hand side of the insert has white lace attached to the edge and is left blank and I have attached the lace frame on the left hand side.

This card is a donation to my craft group which all members need to sign, so I needed to make enough space for many signatures.

I have chosen to make this card as a birthday greeting, however I have catalogued it as a universal greeting card, and I have made good use of many of the elements and have saved the unused frames, sentiments and elements for future use.

The card design is quick and easy to make as a simple but beautiful greeting, and yet lends itself so easily to be embellished in many ways.
