Roses have such a universal appeal and suit so many occasions that is hard as a card maker not to be hooked into choosing such beautiful designs by Ceredwyn Mcrae.
I made the main pink card cut at 29 x 15.5cm from a pale pink linen finished card.
I scored and folded it in half. I made the dark rose pink backing sheet from a linen finished card and cut it at 15 x 14.5 cm.
I defined the edges using a silver metallic pen, and set it aside while I completed the topper.
I made 2 copies of the sheet provided and used the 80gsm copy as the background sheet leaving the shadow areas still visible.
I then cut out the second main element from the 200gsm matte CB copy and used padded D.S. tape to matt these together.
I used the 14cm diameter paper doily to attach to the back using tiny dots of thickened white glue.
I used this size doily as a template adding 0.3mm width to the shape and cut out a copy of the template from silver card.
I attached this to the front of the rose coloured backing sheet using D.S. tape and using 2 strips of lace and one of silver and organza ribbon together attached this to the centre of the silver backing sheet, and secured it at the back of the pink backing sheet.
I then used D.S. tape to attach these backing sheets to the card front. The doily and the 2 main images I then attached to the card front. I cut out the smaller elements to complete the step by step decoupage and attached the butterflies and the sentiment using padded D.S. tape.
I made a bow using the same silver ribbon and attached it using red power tape. I used a silver glitter glue pen over the surface of the main elements, the doily and the butterflies. It has made such a beautiful card, and was so easy to put together. Thank you for this design I will be able to use it so many times. Pamela Horton.
