Rosesand Sunflowers on Sheet Music with Birthday Verse 5Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionThis design, by Ceredwyn, has these very colourful flowers and leaves leaping out at the viewer. The card, when completed, lends itself to so many celebrations and occasions. I have chosen to use this as a Birthday card, and I have used, the insert that was supplied, as part of the purchase. Using the sheet provided, as an easy, quick card make, this card is perfect. I do like decoupage and step by step, so I have made 2 copies of the sheet provided. The first copy, I cut out both elements, and using the topper as the main backing sheet, I measured down 2.5cm from the top of the topper and in 1.5cm, from both outside edges. I then cut out a very narrow vertical, 3mm wide, slit that measures 1.5cm long, on either side. This is to thread the ribbon through, from the back at the top of the left and right hand edge of the music frame. I threaded the 22cm length of ribbon, through the slit, on both sides, but did not secure it at the back at this stage.
I made up the main white card, the front of which measures 15cm high x 12 cm wide. I coloured the edges with a green permanent pen. I made 3 backing sheets for the topper. The largest is a light shade of apple green and measures, 14.5 x 11.25 cm. I coloured the edges with the same green pen. The next backing sheet, is a very bright yellow, and measures 14 x 10.75cm. I attached this to the green backing sheet, with regular D.S. tape. The next backing sheet, is from a previous purchase, cup814313_79993, a design by Clare Walker, named, Christmas Lace Effect, it measures 13.5 x 10cm, and, I also coloured the edges of this with the green pen. I attached it to the yellow backing sheet, using padded D.S. tape. I was then able to attach the topper to the group of backing sheets, using padded D.S. tape, and to then wrap the ribbon around to the back of, the light apple green backing sheet. I was now able to mount this completed topper, onto the white card front. I used the second copy, to cut out the main flower spray with the leaves. However to make this image have depth, I omitted a few of the fine ferns, some petals from the pink left hand rose, and a few spikey petals from the top sunflower. I then attached this to the topper using small D.S. padded squares. I made a simple bow with the same ribbon, and the card front was now completed. For the insert, I used the same Christmas Lace effect as the background, and attached the greeting supplied with regular D.S. tape. This is a very colourful design, which makes up into a stunning card. I am extremely pleased with the result.
