Stunning Red Poppies in a Sepia Frame Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

I have used these beautiful poppies as a birthday gift card today, but have also made a card for some elderly relatives, now in care to commemorate Remembrance Day in November.

I have printed this stunning, and universal design sheet several times as I wanted to make several cards, and wanted to be able to incorporate the poppies in the insert section.

I have used the main image as the main backing sheet. I have then used 3 more different framed images for the next three backing sheets. This then gave greater depth and dimension to the finished card front.

Before I attached any of them together, I have used gold peel off strips on all edges of each frame.

The top framed, and gold peel off strip finished main image, I have set aside while I attached the next 3 together using padded D.S. tape and wrapped the red ribbon across the front and secured it at the back before then attaching this group, to the 13.5cm black square backing sheet.

I then used the same gold peel off strips on the black backing sheet, 2mm in from the outside edge.

The main card is ivory and cut at 30 x 15 cm and scored and folded before defining all the edges with a gold metallic pen.

The topper is then attached using regular D.S. tape. I made a very small bow, and attached it to the front. The extra smaller elements, I then attached using tiny padded D.S. squares.

To complete the insert, I have used the gold swirl card front, cup287672_1571, cut to size, and attached a matching left- over frame onto the right hand side.I used a spare poppy flower, my black pen and my water colour pencils, to attach to the left hand side of the insert.

I then used gold dust glitter glue to gently dot around the centre of each poppy. I also made an envelope using the background sheet, cup868993_3656, a design by Gaye Robinson, to make the 6” x6” envelope to match this card.

It is so rewarding being a crafter and a designer, and being able to use previous purchases to embellish my finished cards.I am sending a big hug for all those who have enabled me to use some of those resources in putting this card together.
