Gorgeous Blue Accessories Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

This stunningly beautiful iris blue image of special occasion accessories, makes such an impact when completed as a greeting card.

I have also recently uploaded cup 1090018_1398, a design also by Ceredwyn Macrae, which features a similar but more casual image in gorgeous lilac.

I printed the image supplied with the sheet, twice each, onto 2 separate A4 white satin finished 170gsm photo paper.

Each main image measured 12cm square, when cut out, and I used one full image as the main backing sheet.

I used the next image to cut around the pale silver, pearl effect white oval background, keeping the shoes, gloves and hand bag sections intact.

I have used 1½ white 9cm round paper doilies to form an oval, to match the scallop’s shape on the main image and attached this in place, using roller glue tape, on the centre section only, to give a more dimensional look to the finished topper.

I used padded D.S. tape to attach the smaller image of the silver, pearl oval and accessories in place. I used the next main image to cut away and reserve the frame from the main image to use as part of the insert.

I then used the fourth image to cut away the hand bag top flap, the shoes and the gloves and attached these to the topper using padded D.S. tape cut into the shapes and sizes I needed I then used the remaining section of the third copy of the main image, which has had the frame removed to cut out the shoes and the hand bag trim.

I attached the handbag trim with runner tape glue and used mod podge dimensional magic on the clip and trim and attached the shoes with padded D.S. tape and used the same mod podge on the decorative trim on the shoes.

To complete the project, I have made the main card using 200gsm navy blue card to cut at29.85x15cm and scored and folded this before attaching the next matching 14cm square iris blue backing sheet, which has the edges defined with a bronze permanent pen, using D.S. tape.

I attached both of these to the card front and used the royal blue fine line peel off strips. 0.5cm in from the edges of the royal blue backing sheet.

To complete the topper, I have used Clare Walker’s designed Background, backing sheet, Christmas Lace Effect, cup814313_79993, to modify the shade as pale blue and printed the verse, I have chosen, attached the reserved frame, one of the smaller images from the sheet provided, a small section of the lace doily, the shoes and one glove as extra embellishments.

I have used one blank sentiment shape, to attach a peel off sentiment, to then attach to the card front.

I have made 3 gift cards using the smaller images and some of the sentiments provided and made matching sized envelopes.
