Im not getting old....Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

I don’t usually make humorous cards, but this one was a choice I made for my partner as he tells he feels old.

He loved the card so it definitely was the right choice.

I have teamed it with cup627996_2248 Hugs and Kisses, designed by Donna Kelly to complete the insert. I printed the sheet provided twice and used one copy of the main image as the main backing sheet. I used a gold metallic pen to define the outside edges of this main image.

I made a backing sheet, cup827996_2248, Botanical leaf in Blue designed by Clare Walker, which I had cut at 14 x 13.5cm and edged it with a blue permanent pen, then attached a royal blue ribbon across the front securing it at the back with D.S. tape.

I then made the white main card, which measures 29.5 x 15cm and scored and folded it before attaching the backing sheets using D.S. tape to the card front.

I then used the second copy of the main image to remove the main outside blue frame and set this aside to use as part of the insert.

The white outside edge of the image left, I then defined using a royal blue pen and attached it to the card front using padded D.S. tape.

The square blue central image, I then cut out from the sheet and attached it using padded D.S. tape.

The oval image of the gorilla I cut out from the sheet and defined the edges using the gold pen before attaching it using padded D.S. squares.

I embellished it with the number 76 and some stars before opening the card to complete the insert.

I attached the cup827996_2248 sheet, cut to size for the insert and I used a sentiment and the extra blue square with the gorilla image to attach onto the left hand side of the insert and the blue frame I then attached onto the right hand side where I attached the cup627996_2248 insert inside this square frame.

I wrote my greeting and this completed the quick and easy step by step card I needed for today’s celebration.

The very outside of the white card I have also defined with the royal blue pen. The finished card front measures 15cm high x 14.75cm wide.
