Male Card Gentleman

There is no mistaking the gender for the recipient of this card, and it has been made available just in time for Australian fathers’ day celebrations.

I have an elderly male friend celebrating his 86th birthday next week and this is a perfect choice for his day.

This design is a quick topper if that is the card maker’s choice or a quick easy decoupage using the step by step method.

I have used the step by step method offered and extra decoupage by printing the sheet 4 times and using different layers for the backing sheets.

I made a black card, cut at 27 x 13.5 cm, and scored and folded it in half then opened it up to outline and define all inside and outside edges with a silver metallic pen.

I matched the largest backing sheet to the tan coloured after shave bottle cover, and cut it at 12cm square and used the silver pen to define the edges.

I attached this to the card front using padded D.S. tape.

I used the main image from one copy of the sheet to treat it in the same way, using the pen and D.S. padded tape.

The next copy I carefully cut and separated the outside frame from the main image and set it aside to use in the insert.

The remaining image, I then attached using D.S. padded tape.

The next image I carefully cut away the 2 outside frames as one piece and set it aside to use in the insert.

I was then left with the white edged frame of the smaller main image and attached it using the padded D.S. tape.

I used one copy of the smaller elements to cut out and attach using small D.S. padded squares. I added the Happy Birthday sentiment.

To complete the insert, I used one frame I had set aside to attach to the left hand side of the insert section and the other to first attach to a white sheet for the space to write my special greeting and used some of the left over male style elements to add as extra embellishments.

I outlined each of the frames with the silver pen. I am so very pleased with the finished result of this ever so easy greeting card design. Thank you, Marijke, I am sending you a big hug. Pamela Horton. The whispering Platypus.
