Two Lovely Sailing Ship Toppers Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

I have been able to add 2 more male greeting cards to my stash from this sheet provided by Ceredwyn.

The brown toned sailing ship image I have backed with a cork coloured backing sheet that measures 13.25x 8cm and a rich brown linen textured backing sheet which measures 14 x 10cm.

I used D.S. tape to attach all of these images together and onto a gold and white stripe card front which measures 15 x 10.5cm.

I defined the outer edges of the brown backing sheet and the card front with a matching brown pen.

I made a second copy of the main image and cut out the central oval image and used a gold glitter glue pen to define the outer edge of the frame.

I allowed this to completely dry before attaching it using padded D.S. tape. To complete the insert was very easy as the card I used for the card front had been printed on both sides using a backing sheet from a previous vault sheet purchase cup195741_487, by Sheila Wilkes.

I added some string and a picture of an anchor and a simple verse and greeting. To finish the topper I made a small paper bead to use as a way to harness the ship in dock and twisted several different shades of brown cotton to look like rope, and added the sentiment, to the extra blank sentiment area from the second sheet.

The blue toned image of the sailing ship I used a cork coloured backing sheet that had blue and white images of flags, attaching it using D.S. tape.

I used 2 blue split pins in the 2 top corners, and a length of blue white stitched grosgrain ribbon, which I had pleated and attached horizontally using red power tape 1.5cm up from the lower edge of the cork coloured backing sheet.

I attached a white split pen and wrapped some teased blue floss and made a loop, winding it around the white split pen.

I secured the ribbon at the back before attaching this topper to the next blue corrugated satin finished backing sheet which measures 14 x 10cm, using D.S. tape.

The main card front is white and measures 15 x 11cm, and I have defined the edges of this and the cork coloured backing sheet with a matching blue pen.

I made another copy of the sheet and cut out the oval main image and attached this using padded D.S. tape.

I used the extra blank sentiment from the second copy to add a Father’s Day sentiment.

To complete the insert, I used a pale blue backing sheet and added an image of an anchor and some more floss, and a simple verse from the free verse list.

I have made 2 very quick and most delightful cards from this sheet, both of which I am delighted with, and thank Ceredwyn, for this design.
