This is a cute Christmas topper for purchase, designed by Ceredwyn McCrae, and if you like to make your greeting cards have a point of difference, Ceredwyn has supplied sentiments and some holly decoupage pieces.
I printed the sheet supplied twice onto an A4 white 120gsm card, and I was then able to make full use of all the elements.
The main card is an A4 gloss white 120gsm card trimmed to measure 29.25 x 16cm. I scored and folded this card and defined the edges with a gold pen.
I made the backing sheets using the main image, which measures 13 x 12.5cm, from one of the copies as the main backing sheet, and used D.S. tape to attach it to a 14 x 13.5cm red backing sheet.
This I then attached to the 15 x 14.5cm dark green backing sheet. I used gold fine line peel off strips along the edges of the main image and white peel off strips on the red backing sheet.
I then defined the edges of the dark green backing sheet with a gold metallic pen. I used the striped ribbon to attach horizontally across the topper, 4cm down from the top edge of the green backing sheet and secured it at the back of the green backing sheet.
This completed the topper which I then attached to the prepared card front using D.S. tape.
I used the second copy to carefully cut away and reserve the frame for use as part of the insert, and then cut out the Santa and cat image to attach to the card front using padded D.S. tiny squares.
I tied the simple bow and attached it using red power tape. I added 2 of the holly decoupage pieces, using thick white glue, some red gems to the holly and some gold dust glitter glue to Santa’s white trim.
To complete the insert, I have used the frame I had reserved, and trimmed it back to the snowy inside border, then mounted it onto the top of the verse I had printed from the free Christmas Section for friends.
This verse and frame I have attached using D.S. tape to the right hand side of the insert and added 2 pieces of the holly decoupage and added some red gems.
I used the remaining holly pieces to attach to the corners of the left hand side of the insert and added the sentiment, some red gems and used a red pen and ruler to give the appearance of a frame.
This has made a beautiful happy card with such universal appeal and if the receiver happens to be a cat lover it will have even extra meaning.
