A Very Christmassy look to this design, showing the boots with bright gold buttons, lots of holly, mistletoe, and berries, with spotted ribbon and backing sheet. I went with the colour scheme, using green and red backing sheets, red satin ribbon, and, a white, red spotted, ribbon.
I printed the sheet provided twice. The first copy, is on 80 gsm copy paper, and from this, I cut out the main design, then mounted it with D.S tape onto the red backing sheet, 13.5cm x 13cm, and then this onto the green backing sheet, 14.5cm x 14cm. Before adding the ribbons, I used 3 different peel off strips, to decorate the edges. On the main feature, I used a simple gold strip. However, where the ribbon art work sits, in the centre, to make it appear as if it does wrap around, I left that area free of the gold strip.
On the red backing sheet, I coloured a gold peel off strip with a dark green pen, and on the green backing sheet, I used a different gold peel off strip. I then attached the spotted ribbon length, of 28 cm, to the centre top, of the 28cm length, of the red satin ribbon, with D.S tape in the centre of the 2 ribbons, not on, the full length of the ribbons. The centre of these, I then attached with D.S tape to the centre of the card front, overlapping, the original, ribbon design. I firmly attached this, at the rear of the green backing sheet.
This completed this part of the backing sheets, which I then attached to the main white card front, which measures16cm high and 14.5cm wide.
I then used the 200 gsm copy, of the sheet to cut away, the striped art work backing sheet , which includes the ribbon design, however, I was very careful to include all the overhanging ornamentation, of the holly, berries and ribbons. This, I then attached to the card front with padded D.S. tape. I used both ribbons, to make a triple bow, and attached it with red power tape.
For the insert, I found some red spotty paper, in my stash, and cut 2 pieces at 12.5 x 15.5cm and matted them with D.S tape to the inside of the card. I used the miniature image on the left hand side of the insert, and a peel off Merry Christmas on the right hand side, leaving room for my personally worded greeting. This design has made a very bright , cheery feeling to the over all appearance, of my completed card.
Thank you Ceredwyn, your designs always please my recipients.
