Beautiful Christmas Wishes 2,Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

I have been able to make a very quick and easy and yet very eye catching Christmas card using this design by Ceredwyn Macrae.

I printed the sheet twice onto 170gsm card as I needed a light weight card for posting.

I used the main full image from one print as the main backing sheet for the card front and using the second image I removed the outer 2 frames entirely and cut an imaginary 9.5cm square by cutting the vertical left line from halfway across the lower left purple petal to complete the decoupage section for the front of the card.

I attached this to the topper using padded D.S. tape. I made the main card using cup827619_79993, Botanical leaf in Blue, a design by Clare Walker.

I used pale blue vellum to cover the sheet and re-printed it so the design appeared in a similar blue shade as the sheet pattern.

I printed the other side of the main card section using only the pale blue vellum. I cut this at 29x15cm and scored and folded it before defining the card front section using a red permanent pen.

I used a black fine line pen, a green colouring pencil and the red pen to draw and colour some leaves and berries onto the sheet I had printed, which has bled through to the inside of the card.

I repeated the drawing on the inside and attached a small image of the main card front and added some gold glitter peel off stars.

To complete the card front, I made a backing sheet to measure 13.5cm square, by allowing 0 .5cm overlap to join the 3 sections, making the finished backing sheet measure 13.5x 3.5cm, red 13.5x7cm and green 13.5x3cm.

I added the 2 lengths of red and gold trimmed ribbon to cover the joins. Before attaching the ribbons I have used royal blue fine line peel off strips along the edge of the finished backing sheet.

I attached this to the card front using D.S. tape.

I attached the topper to the card front using D.S. tape and tied the matching red bow and attached it using red power tape.

I have left the right hand side of the insert blank for my special Christmas message. Thank you Ceredwyn, this is a beautiful bright and happy topper easily made into a Christmas greeting card without the necessity to write a verse for the inside section of the card.
