If you have a friend or colleague who absolutely loves the purple hues, here is the card to make. It is very typical of the quality and desirability we have come to know from Ceredwyn Macrae.
I made 2 copies as I wanted to use extra smaller elements in the insert, and I wanted to use one main image as the main backing sheet.
To this main image, I attached the purple satin ribbon horizontally and 2 cm up from the lower edge. From the second backing sheet, I cut away the outer blue stripe and leaf decorated background, retaining the main scene and the surrounding flower boughs.
I attached this to the main image, using white glue, over the top of the purple ribbon. I then defined the edges with a dark purplish blue gel pen, before attaching this to the purple shade Lush card front, cup322770_1121, which measures 13.5 x 10 cm, using padded D.S tape.
I coloured the silver peel off strips with a purple permanent pen and attached them on all 4 sides. The main card is a dark 23 x 15cm reddish purple, which I have scored and folded before attaching the topper I have made, using padded D.S. tape.
I then cut out the supplied flower boughs and used wet glue to attach these to the card front.
I used padded D.S tape to attach the completed topper to the card front and then added the silver peel off strips, the bow and the sentiment.
To complete the insert, I used the same Lush card front cut to size and added the 4 corners I had cut away from the second copy to glue to the corners of the inside of the white card, attached the lush card front as the insert, copied the free verse from the female friends list in the free verse section and cut out the 2 remaining flower boughs and attached these using wet glue.
This is such a welcoming bright birthday message, and I am so delighted with the outcome. The versatility of the design for other female occasions, means I will have many uses for this delightful design. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus
