VINTAGE AEROPLANES: 7x7 Card Front With Plane Decoupage & Commercial UseCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

Thank you Clare for offering this delightful vintage design so very suitable for a male greeting card and also for any plain spotting enthusiast, I have really enjoyed being able to make this greeting card.

I have used a 22x 11cm black core card for the main card and have edged it on all 4 sides, inside and outside with a gold metallic pen.

I printed the design twice onto the same sheet, and used the main smaller image from one copy to add the gold peel off strips to the edges and to the inner frame edges.

The second copy I have added the gold peel off 2mm in from the edges before attaching the ribbon across the top third horizontally.

I then used padded D.S. tape to attach the larger image onto the 10x10cm square Botanical Leaf in Blue backing sheet, cup 827619_79993 and the smaller image onto to the top of the larger image.

I have used a blue permanent marker to define the edges of this backing sheet, a design by Clare Walker, which I have used many times, before I wrapped the ribbon around and secured it at the back of the backing sheet.

I then used red power tape to attach this completed topper to the card front. I cut out the small aeroplane elements from each sheet and used padded D.S. tape to attach them to the card front.

To complete the insert, I made a lighter weight paper copy of the images to make a frame for the right hand side of the insert, leaving a blank space for my special greeting.

On the left hand side of the insert, I have attached the main smaller image and attached the aeroplane pulling along a banner with the happy birthday sentiment.

The ribbon is a grosgrain cut with v finish on one end, and I have used red power tape to attach the sentiment, and the banner to the card.

I am really happy with the outcome of this project and I will have many uses for this design. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus
