Here is a perfect cute and very eye catching Christmas topper, which offers everything the card- maker likes to work with.

It is a very quick and easy cut and paste, using one copy, or if like me you enjoy using decoupage techniques and like your finished project to display a point of difference, make 2 copies of the sheet provided.

Both copies are printed onto 170gsm white smooth textured matte photo paper, so the main image measures 14.5cm high and 13.5cm wide.

I have used the first image to attach, using D.S. tape onto the main card front.

To make the main card I have used a design I made especially to suit this topper, cup1049542_21027. Red and White Soft-toned Gingham backing sheet, and printed it onto both sides of white A4, Crafty Bob matte 200gsm photo paper, and cut it down to measure 16 x14.5cm.

I then scored and folded it before attaching the main image to the front of the card.

I have then used the bottle green decorative peel off strip to attach onto the outer edge of the main image.

I have used the second copy of the main image to cut away and reserve the outer frames and use the central 8cm square image of the gorgeous, cute gnome, minus the top of his hat, to attach to the card front using padded D.S. tape.

I attached the tiny bow I have tied and the sentiment using red power tape and the candy cane, using a double sided small pad to attach under the top curved end of the cane.

I found 4 matching red, 4 holed, buttons in my needle work box and using 4 tiny squares of card and green thread, attached each of the buttons.

I used white glue onto the back of the stitching at the back of the buttons and let it sit for a minute to slightly thicken and then placed them on top of the button images.

I set this aside to dry while I prepared the insert. I printed the verse I have chosen from the free verse Christmas section.

I removed the inner red framed image and reserved it to use, and trimmed the outer retained frame to measure 13.5cm wide and 14cm high and then turned this clockwise once so that the ribbon trim was vertical and attached this over the verse sheet.

To complete the left hand side of the insert page I have attached the hollow, red framed image down near the lower section of the page to allow space for my personal message at the top of the page.

I have used the image of the gnome’s face and hat to attach in place using D.S. tape, the extra candy stick and the sentiment, using D.S. tape and used a fine line black pen to add the black curls of hair.

This has been such a successful project, I intend to make a number of these in preparation for my Christmas postage and use any elements left to attach to gift tags as I work.
