I backed up the main graphic on the off-white colour in the background and framed it with a thin border of the green (base cs).

On the right hand edge I added some holly and used a red gem on each one.

I then cut out the cat and layered him with foam pads. I love googley eyes, so added those and sparkled the leaves of the holly at his neck plus added larger red gems for the berries.
