This is a very cute sentimental style of card front, and so useful for so many occasions. Consequently I have used the blank sentiment oval, until I need to use the card.
I printed the sheet supplied onto good quality white card and cut out the topper, and the blank sentiment only, for the first step.
I used a half of a 10cm round doily and 28cm of ribbon to attach to the back of the topper with double sided tape. I then made the necessary backing sheets. There 4 in all. Using double sided tape I attached the topper to a blue 9.5cm square card, and continuing to use the same tape, attached this blue backing sheet to the deep gold backing sheet,10.5cm square card, this then to the third backing sheet, blue 11.5cm square. I used double sided tape to attach the second half of the doily to the largest of the blue backing sheets. Leaving 2cm of the doily exposed. The next and fourth, backing sheet, is a delicate floral 14cm square. The completed topper and backing sheets are attached to this floral backing sheet with padded double sided tape. I then wrapped the ribbon over and under to attach at the back with a glue pen.
When it was quite dry, I used double sided padded tape to attach the completed topper to the main gold card, cut at 29 cm x14.5cm, and folded. I made a bow with a 40cm length of 2.5cm wide blue satin ribbon and attached it at the lower edge of the first doily with small pieces of heavy duty red double sided tape.
I am so pleased at the way it all came together.
The step by step was a little tricky as the elements were so tiny. This was due to the fact that I had chosen to print it off in this small size. I used white glue to attach each element to another small piece of card, and let them dry, before cutting them out accurately.
I was then able to use a small brush with white glue to glue the elements in place.
The first of the largest daffodil trumpets has made it appear as if the tiny cute kitten is sitting under a flower umbrella. If you want your recipient to see all of the kitten, simply cut off the trumpet part of the daffodil, as I did for the top layer.
Thank you Christine for such a cute step by step design.
