I have had great fun putting this delightful sea design together using the step by step method and some imagination of my own.
I have used a design by Clare Walker, cup 792133_79993, Fish, corals and starfish sea background, printed on both, inside and outside to make the main card, which has then become the background for this card.
I have changed the hues of this into an aqua shade and used a metallic pen to define the edges of this background, and used this same pen on the edges of the pale aqua backing sheet and the main image.
I had cut this main card at 29cm x 11cm, then scored and folded it before attaching the pale aqua textured card, more to the left, and more to the top of the main card, using D.S.tape and then the main image moving it to be off centre and more to the right, and slightly lower than the textured backing sheet, also using D.S. tape.
I used the ribbon to wrap horizontally across the lower front and secure it on the inside, overlapping the ends of the ribbon.
I then completed the insert before completing the decoupage.
I have used the Beatles song, The Octopus's Garden, to continue the theme, and hand drawn a comical octopus and added the first 2 lines of the song, and some peel off musical notes and also added the simple ribbon tie.
I then cut out all the smaller elements and added them to the front, using some shredded string to thread through the anchor and glue under and over the front ribbon.
I also added the sentiment, the bow and more of the same musical notation.
I drew some tiny black bubbles to give the fish some life. Thank you Sheila, this is a delightfully amusing, quirky and very cute design, and I loved making this card. Pamela Horton. The whispering Platypus.
