Retro CarCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

A wonderful design for a male card, by Gritte Kristiansen, just in time for me to be able to purchase for my friend’s 60th Birthday.

I copied the sheet twice as I wanted to use one main image as the top main backing sheet.

The main black card is cut at 24 x 16cm, then scored and folded, before I attached the gloss white 15x 11cm backing sheet using padded D.S. tape.

I used an orange toned bronze pen to colour some silver and black peel off strips and corners to attach to the edges of the=is white backing sheet and then attached, the 14 x 10cm gold, bronze coloured backing sheet using padded D.S. tape.

The 9.5cm x 9cm tan backing sheet is attached on to the card front using regular D.S. tape, and attached fine line bronze coloured peel off strips before attaching the main image.

I have edged this main image with the orange bronze coloured pen and attached it to the card front using regular D.S. tape.

I then cut the second image into the 4 sections I have used and mounted each one using padded D.S. squares.

I used the extra elements provided with the sheet to attach using small padded squares, and then used my silver glitter gel pen to high light the head lights, the front bumper, the streamers, the peel off number 60, and the central car emblem design.

The insert is copied from a previous purchase, a design by Kristie Hubler, cup640928_2305, of the doors inside Windsor castle, to which I have added a verse I have chosen from the free verse list, and used some peel off strips and flowers and a happy birthday sentiment as embellishments.

We celebrated Steve’s 60th Birthday today, and I heard many complements from family and friends about the thoughtfulness and suitability of this card.
