Stitching with beads
Photographs from the Community
This is a very elegant, and yet so simple design, with easy instructions for stitching and beading. I used an aqua and a pale peach pink theme, to complete this project. I printed the sheet on firm white paper, and transferred this, by using a pricking tool, onto a white textured card, which measures, 14 x 11.5cm.
I used all regular polyester threads to complete the stitching, and the shades I used are, an aqua, a very pale pink and a pale peach pink. I then used the following list of beads, to complete the beading as indicated on the sheet supplied, 8 clear aqua glass, 0.4mm, round beads, 3 opaque dark blue, 0.4mm, round beads, 16 clear glass, hexangular beads, and 2 clear, pearl aqua, 0.5mm, rice beads.
I made a dark aqua card, 16cm x 13cm, and scored it, and folded it in half. I made a backing sheet, in an aqua and white zigzag patterned card, and attached it with D.S. tape. I then attached, the stitched and beaded topper, using D.S. tape. I used pale pink rhinestones and varicoloured aqua rhinestones, around the edge of the white topper. I also added, some small rhinestones to the stitched flower centres. I made a peach pink, paper flower, and backed it with paper lace and a ribbon. I cut out a heart shape, in an aqua print piece of card, and added rhinestones around the perimeter. I attached this to the card front with padded tape, and then attached the flower, to slightly cover part of the heart, with padded tape. I used some, peel off, pink glitter tiny hearts, to attach to the corners, and an aqua coloured rhinestone flower to attach to the lower left corner.
For the insert, I used the 2 patterned papers, I had used for the heart and the zigzag backing sheet. To complete the insert, I cut out 2 hearts, from the patterned papers, I used a length of gingham ribbon, and wrote my greetings, using an aqua glitter glue pen. I then added, slightly larger peel off glitter hearts, and one aqua rhinestone to the right hand bottom corner.
Instructions for making the paper flower is my own paper craft design and, is available on, cup839227_21027.
Thank you, Emy, I have made this card, for my Grand daughter's sixteenth birthday, and I know she will love it, as much as I enjoyed making it for her.
