I have copied this design onto a 13.5cm x 11cm white card, and used single strands of metallic thread in 3 shades to complete the stitching, and a total of 75 beads in a mix of rice beads, solid coloured and glass tiny tube beads and tiny glass seed beads to complete the design on the sheet provided.
I completed the stitching before attaching any beads. The main long curled design I have stitched using a variegated thread in aqua blue, copper and silver and for the 4 outside lines of the groups of soft curves.
I then used a bright aqua thread for the 4 inside lines of soft curves and the 2 moon shapes at the lower section of the design.
The remaining 4 soft curves are stitched with a silver thread.
I have used 6 pearl pale aqua coloured 7mm rice beads for the top flower each with a tiny glass pale aqua seed bead attached to the outer edge and used 6 tiny aqua glass tube beads for the centre The next 2 flowers each have 6 silver metallic aqua coloured 5mm rice beads each with a tiny dark aqua seed bead attached to the inner edge with 3 tiny glass tube beads in the centre.
The 2 flowers on either side in the centre of the design each have 4 silver 8mm metallic rice beads with 2 solid coloured glass 4mm tube beads attached.
The lower edge flower has 6 silver 8mm metallic beads each with a tiny pale aqua seed bead attached to the outer edge and 3 tiny pale aqua glass tube beads to make up the centre.
I used a 13 x 10.5cm plain white backing sheet to attach to the back to secure the work using red power tape and then attached this to a blue spring floral 14.5x12cm backing sheet, and a larger 15 x 13cm aqua backing sheet.
I attached the decorative silver peel off strips before I used the narrow 1cm wide aqua satin ribbon to attach horizontally across the front of this topper, 4.5cm up, from the bottom edge of the largest backing sheet, making sure it did not compromise the stitching design features, and secured it at the back before attaching this topper to the main ivory coloured 15.5 x13.5cm card front using 6mm wide D.S. tape.
I have used 2 pop out images, from a previous purchase of ladies shoes, in matching tones to attach to the card front and added an aqua gem to the top shoe front and one each to the top corners of the white card.
I tied a bow from the same ribbon and attached it in line with the horizontal ribbon. This design looks complicated at first glance but is so easy and quick to complete with an amazing result. Thank you Emy, I am sending you a virtual hug, as I love your designs. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus
