This delightful design lends itself to so many occasions, including Christmas. I am using it to day for a Remembrance Day Card for November 11th.
I am having trouble printing from adobe since I have had an upgrade on my printer, so at this stage I have only been able to photograph the stitching and beading for this card front.
I have used a red polyester thread and green embroidery floss for the stitching. Instead of using spacers I have used gold sequins with black centres.
For the flowers I have used 8 red tiny red metallic round beads for each of the larger flowers and tiny black seed beads for the centre on top of each sequin.
I have used a mixture of seed beads, tiny round beads, and tube beads in differing shades of green to mimic the buds and leaves.
These are all meant to represent the poppies I have drawn and coloured as the centre piece of the card front.
To complete the card front I have added a hand drawn ink and pen coloured poppy spray, and mounted the topper onto a green backing sheet and then onto a poopy background sheet, cup917342_79993, a design by Clare Walker.
I added the gold fine line peel off strips to the backing sheets and mounted this completed topper onto a16x15cm white card front.
To complete the insert, I used the same poppy backing sheet and added the information regarding the significance of the poppy onto green vellum and attached it to the left hand side of the insert leaving the right hand side for my special greeting.
